Watch the Pennies, The 1955 Doubled Die Wheat Cent

Benjamin Franklin said "Watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves".  A 1955 doubled die wheat cent is the most famous die variety in U.S. coinage. Roughly 20,000 or so were put into circulation and were said to be produced mistakenly during a worker's shift at the Philadelphia mint. It's been estimated that only 10,000-15,000 still exist and while we can't put an exact value on one without seeing it, there are more collectors than coins available so if you come across one...it could be worth a "pretty penny"!
